Week Two: Thing 3 and 4

Whoo Hoo! I'm Blogging! Sounds like a noise I should appologize for!

So I am off on my 23 things adventure. My biggest problem so far is finding the time. I know it sounds like no big deal, only 30 minutes a week, but still, have you tried to find 30 minutes in your work day where your phone doesn't ring or you don't have someone at your desk asking for help? It's rather hard.

I think after viewing 71/2 habits that the hardest habit to deal with is habit 3, viewing problems as challenges. It is so easy for me to encounter a problem and just give up. Now, other peoples problems I'm good at, but working through my own is another story. To often I find myself encountering a difficult task in my personal life and just ease myself around it instead of challenging myself. I know you have all been there. Human nature.

I don't think I would have a problem with habit 7, teaching and mentoring. As my career progresses and new staff join our branch I enjoy training them and mentoring them in their new position. I really find this helpful in keeping me on my toes and reinforcing the skills that I currently have.

I am an aspiring writer so I hope that blogging will give me the courage to buckle down and get serious about writing my book.

I would think this would be very helpful for you in getting ready to write a book. Very cool!

Glad you're on your way. I totally understand about the time. And 30 minutes flies by when you're engrossed in trying to understand something or "playing" around trying to learn.

I agree that training others reinforces your own skills. It also improves your communication skills. You learn to read the signs of information overload and how to present information clearly.
